Maintenance Technician - CNC Machine Shop Job Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines, lathes, and shop equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production. This role includes working with FANUC and Siemens controls, maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and supporting general facility maintenance within the machine shop. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, including mills and lathes Troubleshoot and repair CNC control systems (FANUC and Siemens) Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic lines, air lines, and related components Align machines, adjust tooling, and replace worn or defective parts Assist with machine installations, relocations, and upgrades Maintain facility systems such as lighting, compressed air systems, and shop utilities Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and machine manuals Respond to equipment breakdowns and production downtime in a timely manner Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and management Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical school or trade certification preferred) 3+ years of maintenance experience in a CNC machine shop environment Strong working knowledge of CNC mills and lathes Experience with FANUC and Siemens CNC controls Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems Electrical troubleshooting skills (control voltages, sensors, motors, drives) Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals Basic welding, fabrication, and machining skills a plus Skills & Abilities Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Good organizational and time‑management skills Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment Strong attention to detail and safety Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders as required Ability to work in an industrial shop environment Work Environment Manufacturing / machine shop environment Exposure to machinery, noise, oils, and coolants May require occasional overtime or on‑call availability
