We are seeking a full-time dependable and skilled Facilities Technician to support the daily operation of our restaurant facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC units, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building components to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for guests and team members.
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, ice machines, refrigerators, and freezers. Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns. Complete general building maintenance, including painting, flooring repairs, and fixture replacement. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime. Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company standards. Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules. Assist with facility improvements, remodels, and equipment installations as needed. Maintain outdoor areas, parking lots, patios, and entrances in a clean and safe condition.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration systems. Understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance practices. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance software. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Ability to work in varying temperatures, including kitchen, freezer, and outdoor environments. Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Required). EPA Refrigerant Certification. (Preferred). HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or maintenance-related certifications (Preferred). Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
2+ years of maintenance experience in restaurants, hospitality, food service, commercial facilities, or a related environment preferred. Experience with commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment strongly preferred. Experience with HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems is a plus.
