Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier. Grade 4 (Hourly)Position Description:
The Elevator Maintenance Technician II will maintain elevators and escalators on all three campuses. Perform preventative maintenance on all units. Work with contractors and write specifications for new equipment. Assist on routine inspections. Handle after-hours calls as directed. Will be required to attend a four-year training course on elevators and escalators. This is a required personnel position that necessitates the employee's physical presence in the workplace. The employee must also report to or remain at work during university emergencies or closures and maintain a valid driver's license that is insurable under the University's insurance policy. This position may be required to work overtime, be on the call-in/standby schedule, and work scheduled events.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform basic repairs on university elevators and escalators. Perform preventative maintenance on university elevators and escalators. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on elevators and escalators. Assist with annual inspections for elevators and escalators. Upgrade equipment. Identify vendors, order parts, and set up accounts as directed by the Foreman. Work with contractors as assigned. Write specifications for equipment. Other duties as assigned by the Foreman.
