This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across a variety of building systems to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and inmates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility systems, including: Plumbing Electrical HVAC Mechanical and general building systems Troubleshoot and repair equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure issues Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used Follow all safety, security, and detention center protocols Coordinate with vendors or contractors when specialized repairs are required Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous experience in building or facility maintenance preferred Standard certifications for common facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are preferred but not required Working knowledge of basic tools, equipment, and maintenance practices Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to pass a background check and meet detention center employment requirements Work Schedule Monday through Friday Occasional on-call or emergency response may be required Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave Stable, full-time county employment
