Maintenance Technician - Direct Placement Job Description This role offers the opportunity to work as an industrial maintenance mechanic in a busy, clean, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will troubleshoot and repair a wide range of production equipment, working independently and applying strong technical skills across mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, pneumatics, and hydraulics. The position requires a hands-on professional who enjoys diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and diagnose causes of electrical and mechanical malfunctions or failures on operational equipment. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of industrial machinery and systems. Apply basic electrical knowledge to test electrical equipment and determine causes for malfunction, including motor control devices, switch panels, and transformers. Work with mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems to maintain and repair equipment. Set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders to fabricate and repair parts as needed. Use PLC troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve control system issues. Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status and repair needs to relevant stakeholders. Work independently to prioritize tasks, respond to equipment breakdowns, and minimize production downtime. Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems. Essential Skills Proven experience as a maintenance technician or industrial maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with pneumatics and hydraulics. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues, including motor control devices, switch panels, and transformers. Basic electrical testing skills to determine causes of equipment malfunction. Experience with PLC troubleshooting. Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of operational equipment. Capability to set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders to make and repair parts. General knowledge across mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, and hydraulic systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high safety standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Broad technical aptitude and willingness to work across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail when diagnosing equipment issues. Effective communication skills to clearly report issues, repairs, and maintenance activities. Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and prioritize work based on production needs. You will work with a variety of industrial equipment and metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders, as well as electrical testing equipment and PLC interfaces.
