Hotel Maintenance EngineerHoliday Inn Alexandria Downtown | Alexandria, Louisiana Position Summary The Holiday Inn Alexandria Downtown is seeking a skilled, dependable, and service-oriented Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the hotel's physical property, equipment, and guest rooms to ensure a safe, comfortable, and exceptional experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in general maintenance, preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and overall hotel facilities. Essential Responsibilities Perform daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas. Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and service calls. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to hotel standards and schedules. Repair and maintain guest room fixtures, furniture, doors, locks, lighting, appliances, and equipment. Monitor and maintain boilers, chillers, water systems, HVAC equipment, and other building systems. Ensure all life safety equipment is functioning properly, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and sprinkler systems. Maintain swimming pool and spa equipment (if applicable). Assist with painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and cosmetic upkeep projects. Maintain hotel grounds, parking areas, and exterior facilities. Ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, fire safety regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and preventative maintenance records. Assist with emergency situations and after-hours property issues as needed. Work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Front Office, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure smooth hotel operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience required; hotel maintenance experience preferred. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and equipment specifications. Basic computer skills for work order tracking and communication. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Excellent guest service and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
