Job Description

Location:
Orchard Hills Athletic Club, Lancaster, MA Hours :
30-40 hours per week. May require some evening/weekend coverage Job Summary Responsible for ensuring the club's facilities, equipment, and pool areas are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves conducting repairs, performing preventative maintenance, managing the pool's upkeep, and ensuring the full facility operates efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on position, requiring technical expertise and attention to detail to create a welcoming and functional environment for members and staff.
Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and perform repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and fitness equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime. Maintain locker rooms, restrooms, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and functionality. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or major facility upgrades as needed.
Pool Maintenance:
Test pool water to ensure proper chemical balance (pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels). Clean and maintain pool filters, pumps, heaters, and other aquatic equipment. Address issues with water circulation, heating, or chemical imbalances promptly. Ensure compliance with local and state health department regulations for pool operations. Respond to and resolve any pool-related emergencies, such as leaks or equipment malfunctions.
Preventative Maintenance:
Develop and adhere to a regular maintenance schedule for all club systems and equipment. Document maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs to maintain accurate records. Monitor and replenish inventory for maintenance supplies and pool chemicals. Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and licensing requirements. Support emergency preparedness by responding quickly to equipment failures or safety concerns. Qualifications 3+ years of maintenance experience, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems. Experience in fitness or hospitality environments is strongly preferred. Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across various maintenance areas. Knowledge of pool equipment, water chemistry, and safety regulations. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent certification is required (or must be obtained within 60 days of hire). Additional technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus. Flexible availability to address emergencies outside of standard working hours.
