Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a Solar O&M Field Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of utility-scale, commercial, and industrial solar PV systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum system performance, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safe and reliable plant operations. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems and associated equipment. Troubleshoot and repair inverters, combiner boxes, trackers, SCADA systems, transformers, and balance-of-system components. Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment. Diagnose system faults and implement corrective actions to restore production. Monitor plant performance and respond to alarms and operational issues. Complete maintenance reports, service records, and work orders accurately and on time. Support commissioning and testing activities for new installations and equipment upgrades. Follow all company, OSHA, and site-specific safety procedures. Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Asset Management teams to maximize system availability and performance. Participate in emergency response and on-call rotation as required. Travel to project sites within the assigned region when needed. Qualifications Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent field experience in Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline. 2+ years of experience in solar operations and maintenance, electrical maintenance, or renewable energy. Strong understanding of solar PV systems and electrical equipment. Experience troubleshooting central and/or string inverters. Familiarity with SCADA systems and performance monitoring platforms. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals. Proficient with electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and thermal imaging cameras. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites. Preferred Qualifications NABCEP certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Experience working on utility-scale solar projects. Knowledge of medium-voltage equipment and switching procedures. First Aid/CPR certification. $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
