This role combines hands-on handyman skills with supervisory responsibilities, overseeing daily operations, coordinating trades, and maintaining quality control. Duties Perform skilled carpentry work for residential construction projects Build and renovate homes from framing through finish work Read and interpret plans, drawings, layouts, and specifications Oversee subcontractors and ensure work meets project standards Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other trade professionals Manage daily jobsite operations and project progress Communicate clearly with clients regarding schedules, expectations, changes, and project updates Identify and resolve construction issues in the field Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite Ensure work is completed to code, company standards, and client expectations Track materials, tools, timelines, and subcontractor performance Qualifications Minimum 10 years of carpentry or residential construction experience required Strong experience building homes and managing residential construction projects Skilled in framing, trim, finish carpentry, repairs, and general construction Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems Experience overseeing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades Ability to manage client expectations professionally and respectfully Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to read blueprints and construction documents Must be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Must follow safety procedures and maintain a professional jobsite Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Must have basic hand tools; larger tools may be provided depending on the project Preferred Skills Experience as a lead carpenter, construction supervisor, or project lead Knowledge of residential building codes and inspection processes Experience with custom homes, remodels, additions, or high-end residential projects Ability to estimate materials and plan jobsite workflow Strong leadership skills with subcontractors, laborers, and vendors
