Maintenance Mechanic

Job Title:

Maintenance Mechanic Objective:

The Maintenance Mechanic will support the Norwood, MA CertainTeed production line, manufacturer of asphalt roofing shingles. The mechanic will select and properly use all hand tools and stationary power tools including power saw, welders, etc., as well as diagnose and repair most plant equipment (pumps, gear boxes, rollers, bearings, motors, conveyors, etc.).

Schedule Shift:

Must be able to work either a 3rd shift or a 2nd shift 3rd shift

• 10PM-6:30AM 2nd shift
• 2PM•10:30PM •Saturday or Sunday depending on production needs•12 hours shift •2nd shift•6AM-6:00PM 3rd shift•6:00PM-6:00AM Training•The first 90 days of training is on 1st shift

Responsibilities:

Metal fabrication/welding Change out worn motors, gear reducers, bearings, etc. Lubricate and maintain conveyors Troubleshooting production manufacturing equipment Other plant maintenance responsibilities as needed

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

High School or equivalent Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs without assistance. Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions. Ability to work with arms above the head. Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards. Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Hand-eye coordination. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk, and hear.

Compensation:

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay rate for this position which is: Starting at $34.38 per hour, plus 2 nd shift, shift differential of $0.40/hr. 3rd shift, shift differential of $0.50/hr. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus rate is based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee. Additional Pay Incentives for

This Role Include:

Standard Overtime:

1.5x the regular hourly rate for hours worked beyond 8 per day.

Attendance Bonus:

$500 per semester for meeting company attendance requirements.
