Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Facility Support Technician reports to the Facilities Manager and performs a variety of maintenance and custodial tasks in and around the corporate office building and manufacturing plant in the interest of maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment while maintaining and preserving the value of the assets. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Performs preventive and general maintenance at the facility including minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs, as needed. Previous experience with these responsibilities is required. Respond to all building service requests and make or schedule repairs as necessary. Custodial maintenance of the facility by project and as required daily. Moves office furniture as necessary, sets up and takes down equipment, hangs wall furnishings, etc. Uses power equipment as necessary including power washers, carpet cleaning machines, and small power tools. Inventories and stocks office supplies, maintenance and custodial items, beverages, etc. Minor maintenance of plumbing fixtures including faucets, drains, water filters, lavatory fixtures, etc., and schedules and supervises contractors to perform the same. Minor electrical maintenance including replacement of light fixtures, lamps, ballasts, etc., and schedules and supervises contractors to perform the same. Minor troubleshooting and repairs to the building's mechanical equipment including tracking all maintenance and replacing filters by maintenance schedules. Minor repairs to the building irrigation system and schedules contractors to perform the same. Daily ground inspections and ground keeping as necessary. Snow removal and ice-melt application to all building service walks and roads. Maintains the building's entrances including performing maintenance lock systems, door hinges, and door closers. Maintain company car preventive maintenance. Oversee tracks, and schedules all elevator maintenance Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Assist Director of infrastructure and capital investments or Facilities Manager. Deliver Building Maintenance support to projects as assigned. Acts as a key contributor to assisting with critical safety and Facility needs as required.
Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures and practices
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and logic controllers
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
  • Mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Experience using CMMS software for work order management
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
