Building Maintenance Technician

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and demonstrate proficiency in various technical skills, including electrical systems, mechanical knowledge, HVAC. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe working environment. Duties Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine and preventative maintenance for apartments, buildings, grounds, and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance issues. Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner. Maintain and repair locks, doors, windows, screens, flooring, and other apartment features. Property Appearance & Safety Ensure the community grounds, amenities, and common areas are clean, safe, and well maintained. Perform inspections and identify issues proactively to prevent costly repairs. Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and professionally. Resident Services Provide excellent customer service while interacting with residents, addressing concerns respectfully and efficiently. Communicate status updates on work orders and repairs. Compliance & Documentation Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA standards. Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and completed work orders. Assist with inspections related to safety, code compliance, and property standards. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance with a strong mechanical background. Proficiency in electrical systems, including the use of tools . Certifications are desirable Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively. Strong leadership skills with prior supervising experience preferred. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Customer service-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality work.

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or GED. 1+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily housing. Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Preferred:

HVAC or CFC certification. Trade school training or relevant technical certifications. Prior experience in property management or apartment maintenance. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Work Schedule Full-time position with availability to work on-call rotations as required.
