One Year (6/10/2026 to 6/9/2027 ) About the Opportunity We are seeking a dependable and experienced Lifeguard to provide on-site aquatic safety services at a residential healthcare facility serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position combines traditional lifeguarding responsibilities with pool maintenance, water quality monitoring, and facility support duties. Key Responsibilities Supervise and safeguard residents during pool activities. Enforce pool rules and maintain a safe swimming environment. Respond to emergencies and provide CPR, First Aid, and AED assistance when necessary. Conduct routine pool inspections and safety checks. Test and monitor water quality and adjust pool chemicals as needed. Maintain pool operation records and chemical logs. Inspect pool equipment and promptly report maintenance concerns. Clean pool areas, pool deck, and adjoining bathrooms. Vacuum the pool and perform basic pool maintenance activities. Assist recreation staff with pool testing procedures and best practices. Work professionally with individuals who have intellectual disabilities and behavioral health challenges.
Work Schedule Tuesdays:
8:00 AM•11:00 AM and 1:00 PM•5:00
PM Thursdays:
1:00 PM•5:00 PM Every other
Thursday:
Additional 10:00 AM•12:00 PM shift The first hour of each shift is dedicated to pool preparation, testing, and cleaning before resident use. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Valid driver's license. Minimum two (2) years of lifeguarding experience. Current Lifeguard Certification from an approved provider. Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification. Current Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or behavioral health populations is highly preferred. Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of pool safety procedures and emergency response. Ability to monitor and maintain pool chemistry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, professional, and safety-focused. Comfortable working in a healthcare or residential treatment environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform water rescues. Ability to work in an indoor aquatic environment. Ability to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies.
Pay:
$27.00•$34.00 per hour
