We are seeking a professional, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated Maintenance Technician who takes pride in their work and understands the impact a well‑maintained property has on the guest experience. Position Overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of the hotel's building, grounds, equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems. This role ensures that every guest enjoys a seamless, comfortable stay in a property that reflects the high standards of the Best Western brand.

Typically 9:00 AM
  • 5:30 PM , averaging 38-40 hours per week
Availability:
Weekends and holidays required Key ResponsibilitiesDelivering the Best Western Guest Experience Ensure every guest enjoys a safe, comfortable, and fully functional environment. Represent the Best Western brand with professionalism, courtesy, and pride. Follow all grooming and appearance standards; wear the provided uniform and nametag at all times. Daily Maintenance & Work Order Management Complete all tasks on the Daily Maintenance Checklist with accuracy and attention to detail. Respond to Maintenance Request Forms within 8 hours . Monitor and complete tasks in the Work Orders App , ensuring all outstanding items are resolved within 24-48 hours . Preventive Maintenance Excellence Perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) on time and maintain accurate monthly logs. Complete full PM on one guest room per day , including: Lighting and electrical circuits Plumbing systems HVAC units Guest room walls, doors, locks, and appliances Furniture, flooring, and carpet stain removal Safety, Compliance & Brand Standards Follow OSHA safety standards, including Bloodborne Pathogen protocols. Handle chemicals safely in accordance with MSDS guidelines. Maintain proper key‑control procedures. Keep the front desk informed of all out‑of‑order rooms. Property & Grounds Care Assist with daily upkeep of the hotel grounds, including: Trash removal Sweeping sidewalks and stairways Maintaining landscaping and flower beds Clearing debris from parking lots and dumpster areas Pressure washing and blowing exterior walkways Ensure safe conditions during inclement weather for guests and staff. Equipment & Facility Maintenance Maintain guest laundry equipment and common areas (property specific). Keep the maintenance workshop and storerooms clean, organized, and well‑stocked. Submit inventory needs and purchase requests to the General Manager. Coordinate outside vendors as needed. Service the hotel pool, including chemical balancing and filter cleaning. Repair and paint damaged walls. Install, repair, or relocate cable, telephone, and CAT5 wiring. Operate all tools and equipment safely and responsibly. Complete all required reports accurately and on time. Perform additional assignments as requested. Job Requirements Must obtain a CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification if not already held (hotel reimburses upon completion). Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience , preferably in a hotel or related environment. Strong skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler systems, and general maintenance . Ability to bend, kneel, lift, push, carry, and pull up to 100 lbs . Ability to reach overhead, climb, crouch, and twist. Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be available/on‑call for facility emergencies. Reliability is essential; weekends and holidays are required . Valid driver's license required. Must be detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision .
