Maintenance Specialist

Position Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This person plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of our value-added meat processing and retail business. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our food processing equipment, retail store equipment, and related facilities. Your expertise will help prevent downtime, improve efficiency, and maintain a safe working environment. This is a union position and offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced setting dedicated to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure smooth operations. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues Operate and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes. Conduct lubrication, welding repairs and fabrications as needed to maintain equipment integrity. Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings for accurate troubleshooting and repairs. Adapt maintenance procedures and techniques based on equipment requirements Support facilities maintenance tasks including plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and residential painting projects when required. Maintain detailed, accurate maintenance logs and reports. Support general building and grounds maintenance Adhere to and ensure safety protocols are followed and tasks are completed efficiently. Report to on-call service needs Work a regular 45-50-hour schedule, including mandatory overtime and weekends. Preferred Experience (Not Required) Food manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience Electrical, mechanical, and/or PLC troubleshooting experience Qualifications & Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of tools and systems Willingness to learn and grow technically Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Detail-oriented with a preventive maintenance mindset Safety-conscious and compliant with workplace protocols Reliable and dependable work ethic Ability to communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, and technicians Strong time management and prioritization skills Team-oriented and collaborative Adaptable under changing priorities and emergency situations Willingness to learn and grow technically

Pay:

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
