at Old Town Canoe Company in Old Town, Maine, United States Job Description Description Join our Team! Old Town Watercraft brings over 100 years of passion and authentic understanding in kayaks, canoes and the new EPDL-power assist pedal kayaks to drive the next generation innovation on the water.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on plant and production equipment issues using schematics and technical drawings. Performs preventative and required maintenance on production and plant equipment. Repairs equipment, systems, conveyors and/or other systems at the facility. Documents maintenance and preventive services performed, and actions taken to fix issues. Works with pneumatics, electrical, hydraulic and/or air compressor systems (varies by business unit). Provides production and physical plant maintenance support. Identifies and implements ideas for process improvements, safety, quality and waste management. Inspects alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed. May act as a resource to less experience technicians to assist with troubleshooting issues and understanding policies/procedures. Promotes company safety policies, workmanship standards and operational procedures among team members while displaying strong quality consciousness at all times. May performs other various duties such as assembly, operating equipment, machining and welding. Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Typically requires an associate/technical degree in a maintenance technology, a related certification, or equivalent.Experience:
Typically requires 5 years of manufacturing experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret schematics. Strong skills in and experience with pneumatics, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and air compressor systems. Proficient in using the Microsoft Office. Strong industrial skills with PLC experience. Skills in and ability to inspect alarm systems (fire, protection). Ability to perform diverse tasks while requiring minimal supervision.
