Job Description

Job Summary The County of Montmorency is seeking candidates for a part-time general maintenance technician position. Duties include all lawn maintenance (zero-turn mower provided), shoveling and salting sidewalks before opening of the County building and throughout the day, general maintenance within the county building as needed and/or requested, and serve as liaison with maintenance service contracts that are called to the county building. This position is part-time/on-call Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm with a starting wage of $17.79 per hour. Normal hours are between 10-20 per week. Any interested candidates, please submit your resume and a letter of interest to the Controller's Office by the end of business on June 12th, 2026. Responsibilities Adjust and set exterior light sensors for time change. (located in server room) Periodically check operation on smoke alarms/detectors. Switch boiler function between seasons All minor repairs in/outside of each building including, but not limited to: o Paint walls and/or ceilings as needed. o Change light bulbs when needed. o Assist staff to hang pictures, move furniture/equipment, and assemble/install/repair cabinets, locks, and drawers. o Paint exterior trim as needed.
Winter maintenance during operational hours:
o Clear and salt all sidewalks and door entrances. o Check roofs, at least once per year for snow load issues. o Snow blower, shovel, and salt dispenser provided. Lawn & landscaping maintenance: o Mow lawn once a week in summer, or as needed. o Trim lawn, trees, and shrubs, pick up branches and leaves. o Zero-turn lawn mower provided. o Fertilize lawn in the spring. o Pickup all cigarette butts laying on premises. Use best judgement on walk throughs to address any issues, report any major issues to the Controller's office to schedule repair/maintenance if needed. Other duties as assigned by the Controller's office. Assist Building Inspector if needed on below listed items.
