Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on independently maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving hydraulic-driven presses and auxiliary equipment in a rubber injection manufacturing facility You will diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, support production continuity across multiple shifts, and contribute to ongoing equipment upgrades and plant improvements Job Responsibilities Independently modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of injection presses and auxiliary equipment in a rubber manufacturing environment Diagnose mechanical problems and provide quick, innovative solutions for equipment breakdowns using advanced skills in mechanics, fitting, retrofitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal work, and analytical troubleshooting Identify and resolve electrical faults and failures by performing control system analysis and interpreting PLC ladder logic diagrams Maintain and troubleshoot plant support equipment, including air compressors, chillers, water towers, and fire systems Support timely and effective line handovers between shifts by completing accurate documentation and briefing Maintenance team members and Production Supervisors on progress, issues, and outstanding work Independently perform preventive maintenance activities according to established PM program schedules and standards Essential Skills Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic-driven presses and auxiliary equipment Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues using advanced principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal work, and troubleshooting. Experience with preventive maintenance programs for industrial equipment Ability to navigate PLC systems to identify issues, including reading and interpreting PLC ladder logic diagrams Strong skills in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in rubber injection or similar manufacturing processes Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound technical decisions Capability to support shift handovers through clear communication and accurate documentation Demonstrated ability to train others on equipment changeover, setup, and takedown Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $74817.60 - $74817.60/yr. Direct Hire, 30 days for benefits, medical, dental, vision, short and long term Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Auburn Hills,MI.
