Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic Job Description This role focuses on performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on injection molding machines and stamping presses in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment You will troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, perform preventative maintenance, and help ensure that production equipment operates safely and efficiently Job Responsibilities Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on injection molding machines and stamping presses, including both transfer and progressive presses Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on production equipment using schematics and technical documentation Inspect, repair, and replace hydraulic components such as valves, cylinders, fluid lines, pumps, and vacuum delivery systems Inspect, repair, and replace pneumatic components to maintain reliable operation of equipment Conduct preventative and preventive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life Use hand tools and industrial tools safely and effectively to complete maintenance and repair tasks Maintain and repair conveyor systems to support smooth material flow through the facility Perform basic welding, including MIG welding, as needed for equipment repair and fabrication Support maintenance activities on progressive dies and transfer presses to ensure proper operation Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and clearly Support general facilities maintenance work as needed to keep the plant in good working condition Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience performing maintenance and repairs on injection molding equipment or stamping presses (including transfer and progressive presses) Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and repair in an industrial environment Proficiency in hydraulic repairs and troubleshooting, including valves, cylinders, fluid lines, pumps, and vacuum delivery systems Proficiency in pneumatic repairs and troubleshooting on industrial equipment Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams Experience performing preventative and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and industrial tools for maintenance and repair work Experience working with injection molding equipment and related mechanical systems Experience working with transfer presses and progressive dies Ability to troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems Basic welding skills, including MIG welding, for equipment repair and light fabrication Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently to resolve mechanical issues Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
