Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician I to support maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their mechanical and electrical skills through hands-on training and mentorship. The technician will assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and production line setup while working under the guidance of senior maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with preventative maintenance (PM), repairs, and troubleshooting of production equipment and machinery Support setup and changeover of production/assembly lines Perform semi-skilled mechanical and basic electrical maintenance tasks Inspect equipment and components for defects, wear, or damage Clean, lubricate, adjust, and reassemble machinery as needed Assist higher-level technicians with installation, repair, and maintenance of systems and equipment Operate maintenance equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and transport vehicles Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts usage Follow all safety procedures and conduct safety inspections as required Maintain a clean and organized work environment Read and interpret technical manuals, safety rules, and maintenance procedures Support continuous improvement initiatives and complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Basic mechanical aptitude; electrical knowledge is a plus Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Willingness to learn and develop technical maintenance skills Ability to work overtime as needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to work from ladders and in confined or restricted spaces Ability to lift, move, and work with tools and equipment as needed Work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions (heat, noise, etc.) Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift IND2
