Job Description

Purpose of Role:
The primary function of the Maintenance Technician Lead is to assist the supervisors and the Plant Manager making sure equipment, power units, forklifts and building is in company standard and policies. They are also to assist with the manager with supervising the truck drivers to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Typical Duties:
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties, electrical, grinding, and lubing equipment, forklift, and hi-low.
  • Identify actual and potential maintenance problems, including potential liability and workplace hazards, take appropriate actions to handle the problems.
  • Switching of blades on the equipment.
  • Operate machinery and equipment necessary for site maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, and maintain equipment (i.e. which include hi-low and forklifts)
  • Responsible for correctly handling and disposing of any hazards in compliance with OSHA.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and repairs on all power units and trailers within compliance of the DOT Regulations.
  • Ensure the completion Vehicle Inspection Reports within compliance of the DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Address minor discipline problems with the truck drivers; refer more serious cases to Plant Manager.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Certified in Automotive Brakes (ASE A5)
  • Must be able to climb ladders to a height in excess of 10 feet, lift and carry up to 50 pounds and be able to stand, walk, stoop and bend continuously during your shift.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions.
Qualifications:
Must have experience in controls and Instrumentation, Equipment Maintenance, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality, Safety Management, Quality Focus, Power Tools, Judgment, Decision Making, Ability to understand the following instructions with respect to customer requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 55-lbs.
  • Able to stand 8 plus hours per day.
  • Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally reach with hands & arms; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl.
