Handyman Assistant

1st Choice Companies is looking for a Handyman Assistant. This position works with the team to maintain, upgrade, and repair residential and commercial buildings and properties. Seasonal position, May-September.

Starting Pay:

$20/ hourly. Full or Part-Time available.

Responsibilities:

Work on large and small scale projects as coordinated by the company. Operate a wide variety of power equipment. Occasional power washing jobs. Maintain customer-owned equipment. Solve problems on the job as they arise. Occasional heavy labor such as breaking up small amounts of concrete. Communicate clearly with customers and team members. Use company systems to document workday activities. Organize company trucks, trailers, and equipment as it pertains to day to day use. Reports to Maintenance Team Lead.

Ideal candidate:

Works well with customers and maintains a team environment around coworkers. Is reliable, organized, on time, and proactive. Has experience with large tools and equipment. Basic carpentry skills are not required but a plus.

Must Be Willing To:

Follow directions and navigate to job sites. Drive a pickup truck with a trailer attached. Operate boats. Complete tasks that require heavy labor. Work outside in variable weather conditions. Work in a variety of environments e.g. attics, basements, indoor/ outdoor. Adapt to changing conditions and problem solve on the job. Must properly wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Have a valid driver's license and be willing to go through a background check. Must be 18 or older. At 1st Choice Companies, we offer a wide variety of services to our clients.
