Job Description
Position Summary The Machine Shop Helper supports daily operations in a precision aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for packaging finished parts, making deliveries and pickups, maintaining a clean and organized facility, and assisting with general shop support activities to ensure efficient production operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Package, label, and prepare machined parts for shipment according to customer and quality requirements.
- Perform local deliveries and pickups using company vehicles.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop floors, work areas, offices, and common spaces.
- Assist with routine facility and equipment maintenance tasks.
- Handle and move materials, tooling, and supplies throughout the facility.
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming materials and supplies.
- Assist machinists and production personnel with non-machining tasks as needed.
- Dispose of scrap materials and maintain recycling and waste areas.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles, including pickup trucks and cargo vans.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or shop experience is a plus but not required.
