Location:
Madison Heights, MI Position Overview Our client is a leading manufacturer of industrial floor coatings, and looking for a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and conducting repairs as necessary on all machinery and equipment, including but not limited to filling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and forklifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and experience working in a manufacturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and productivity of our operations while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance on all machinery and equipment, including but not limited to filling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and forklifts, to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment as needed. Keep up to date on the latest maintenance and repair techniques and procedures for the company's equipment. Work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all maintenance and repair needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Uses hand tools and power tools to install, set up, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production equipment, material handling equipment and building systems. Performs scheduled and emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment including replacing defective parts, adjusting settings, and calibrating systems to ensure optimal performance. Perform "project" work and any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Management. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts. Install and maintain new machinery and equipment. Reads and interprets blueprints and/or schematics for assigned equipment. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Snow plowing and clean-up as needed during winter months.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment. Experience with welding and fabrication. Strong mechanical and electrical skills. Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to aid in troubleshooting and repairs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong work ethic and commitment to safety. Experience with filling equipment, pumps, and forklifts is a plus. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Perform basic shop mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Use powered and non-powered hand tools. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and occasional overtime to support production schedules and maintenance needs. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
