Purpose Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. policies, procedures, and work instructions. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Provides simple machinist duties and responsibilities. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed. Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through designated channels. Informs appropriate management and maintenance team of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting Assists and trains other maintenance and/or other technical level employees Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed. Performs other duties as required Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives and test equipment Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Education Electrician/Controls Experience Industrial automation background is preferred Proven problem solving skills. Associate degree or relative experience in related field. Skills Testing No Skills Testing Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of mechanics, electrical, and automation. Proficient with utilizing word processing, spreadsheets and database applications. Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines. Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving. Innovation and change adaptability skills. 3+ years of proven mechanical and electrical skills Ability to work in a fast-paced cross functional manufacturing environment Hands on approach to problem solving. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on all equipment in designated area of responsibility. Must have current knowledge of electrical codes and electricity and be able to apply it to the job. Machine rebuilding and mechanical knowledge including hydraulics required. Schematics and machine panel controls wiring Electrical wiring / troubleshooting 480VAC, 120VAC and low voltage control wiring 24VDC A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes Panel building / controls wiring design experience Experience with, Siemen S7, WinCC HMI, and Allen Bradley highly preferred PLC and computer programming and interfaces (Siemens) highly preferred Machine robotics (Kuka Robots) preferred Experience or background in Conveyor systems, or paint systems, or robotic experience with Kuka controls preferred. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with production operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting Willing to work any shift and overtime as required
