General Maintenance is responsible for a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment for all employees and customers. Essential duties and responsibilities Shovels snow in the winter, maintains upkeep of the ice rink Maintains repairs on buildings, equipment, utility systems, and grounds throughout the village Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs Responds to emergency calls for maintenance in village Performs touch up and finishes paint jobs Landscaping upkeep as needed Ability to keep the entire village looking presentable by sweeping, shoveling, emptying garbage cans, picking up litter Ability to mop floors and clean bathrooms Responsible for removing leaves, sticks, and litter from the water/waterfront Ability to use snow blower, leaf blower, etc Ability to climb ladders Flexibility with hours and schedules, ability to be on call Any additional tasks asked by supervisor Knowledge, Skills, Abilities To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Tooling:
Ability to effectively use many tools and read manuals
Communication:
Able to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and company personnel, able to clearly and effectively communicate information both orally and in writing
