Progressive Stamping Die Maintenance Technician BAE Manufacturing Industries Warren, MI Job Details Full-time $29 - $35 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications Tool & die Full Job Description Progressive Stamping Die Maintenance Technician Step onto our first-shift floor and into a role where your craftsmanship keeps production humming. From the moment you clock in, you're the go-to expert for keeping progressive stamping dies performing at their best. A day in the life You begin by reviewing CMM layout data and parts checked on stamping gauges, planning the precise die adjustments needed. On the bench, you run preventive maintenance, spotting wear before it becomes downtime. You sharpen details and add shims to protect timing, shear, and stagger. When sensors misread or a scrap mark appears, you diagnose, tune, and verify. In the press, you troubleshoot with calm precision, then head back to the bench to machine new details—die sections, punches, and more—using mills, surface grinders, lathes, and profilers. Throughout the shift, you log PM hours in the maintenance database and leave your station as organized as you found it. What you'll handle Continuous improvement work and upgrades on progressive dies Die adjustments based on stamping gauge readings and CMM layout interpretation
Bench PM:
identify damage or excessive wear before it escalates Detail sharpening and shimming to maintain timing, shear, and stagger Sensor understanding and fine-tuning for reliable operation Setup and adjustments involving nitrogen cylinders, pad pressures, and manifolds Root-cause correction of scrap marks and other defect symptoms Press-side troubleshooting and optimization Fabrication of new die details (e.g., sections, punches) Repair of cracked or welded die details Operation of machine tools: mill, surface grinder, lathe, profiler Accurate time entries in the PM database How we workOrganization:
keep your bench and surrounding area clean and orderly Quality and documentation: follow work and quality procedures; use micrometers, calipers, and process gauges; record data clearly Safety first: use all safety devices correctly at all times, including safety blocks Team mindset: collaborate, support team decisions, and coach operators when needed Schedule and employment This is a full-time, first-shift role.
