Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM Job Overview A chemical manufacturing company in the Minneapolis area is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support weekend operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently. This position works a 36-hour weekend shift but is compensated equivalent to a 40-hour workweek. Key Responsibilities Repair or replace defective equipment components using hand and power tools, then reassemble equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth machine operation and reliable building systems. Follow checklists to inspect drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, and other critical components. Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, drills, saws, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing devices. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, pipe systems, electrical and electronic components, and mechanical equipment. Diagnose mechanical issues using blueprints, manuals, and parts catalogs. Inspect and test machinery to pinpoint malfunctions. Record maintenance and repair work, including cost and materials used. Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery components such as bearings, gears, and shafts. Dismantle mechanical devices with hoists, cranes, and tools to access defective parts.
