Facilities Technician Salary $68,868.80 - $85,883.20 Annually Location City Hall Burnsville, MN Job Type Full-Time Job Number 2026-00426 Department Community Operations Division Division Parks, Recreation & Facilities - Facilities Department Opening Date 05/20/2026 Closing Date 6/2/2026 11:59 PM Central Description Benefits Questions Position Details As a Facilities Technician, you will perform manual and skilled work involving the care, maintenance, cleaning, and operation of designated city buildings and grounds. This position helps ensure safe, welcoming, and well-maintained facilities for the community to enjoy. This position is regularly scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The position also participates in seasonal and operational on-call responsibilities as assigned, including snow removal, weather-related response, flag lowering, and other facility or maintenance needs. Employees must maintain flexibility to work adjusted schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, on-call assignments, or other modified hours based on weather events, facility needs, operational priorities, supervisor absences, or additional staffing needs. Our Recreation and Facilities Department is made up of dedicated professionals committed to providing welcoming facilities and quality programs, events, and services that enhance the community and create meaningful experiences for residents. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a starting salary of $68,868.80 , depending on qualifications (DOQ). Learn more about the Facilities Technician position here. How you'll use your strengths every day The Facilities Technician values people and perspectives by: Assisting in the delivery of high-quality facility services and responding to service requests from City staff in a timely and professional manner Supporting a positive customer service experience through reliable and professional communication They are on the leading edge when they: Performing routine custodial duties including cleaning floors, windows, surfaces, and managing trash removal Assisting with facility setup and teardown, including moving equipment and maintaining safe access during weather events such as snow and ice removal And they expect the best by: Performing general maintenance and semi-skilled repair work to keep buildings and grounds in good condition Supporting the operation of building systems, including HVAC and other facility infrastructure What you'll bring to help you be successful High school diploma or GED, with three years of building maintenance experience Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one in the State of Minnesota Special Boiler's License or ability to obtain within nine months of hire Local government experience preferred
