The maintenance mechanic responds to maintenance requests, performs preventive and corrective maintenance, and helps drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and uptime. Responsibilities Respond to maintenance requests promptly and perform routine maintenance so that production equipment consistently meets production goals. Respond to internal customer requests, particularly from production, with a strong sense of urgency and service. Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on time to prevent future equipment failures and downtime. Follow up on preventive maintenance findings and line work observations to enhance equipment reliability and performance. Share knowledge gained during preventive maintenance activities to improve the preventive maintenance planning process and overall equipment efficiency. Ensure schedule changes, material availability, and line operations do not prevent completion of required preventive maintenance. Contribute to improvements in equipment design to maximize throughput and reduce non-value-added labor. Administer the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) by entering completed work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Sign parts out to work orders and ensure parts usage is correctly recorded in the CMMS. Order, restock, and sign parts into the CMMS to maintain accurate inventory records. Perform additional CMMS-related tasks as assigned to support system reliability and data accuracy. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in equipment and maintenance areas.
