Role:
As a Dock & Lift Installation Specialist, you'll take the lead on installing, maintaining, and removing dock systems and boat lifts at waterfront properties throughout the Crosslake area. This is active, physical work that keeps you outside and on the move. You'll work with mechanical systems, power tools, and heavy equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality results for our customers. During the off‑season, you'll shift into a broader support role - helping with handyman-style projects, assisting in getting the Brandtwood Shop fully operational, and contributing to the customer‑facing experience we're building for our expanding cabin services division. This is a full-time salary (exempt) position with a strong seasonal rhythm.
Peak demand occurs during:
April - May (5-6 weeks) October - November (5-6 weeks) These periods are fast-paced and hands-on, with plenty of hours available. The rest of the year offers steadier, project-based work that keeps you engaged and contributing to the broader Brandtwood mission.
What You'll Do:
Install, assemble, and adjust dock systems and boat lifts according to layout plans, site conditions, and technical specifications. Perform routine maintenance, seasonal removal, and troubleshooting on dock and lift systems, including mechanical, structural, and basic electrical components. Operate and safely handle hand tools, power tools, and light equipment to complete installations, repairs, and modifications as needed. Interpret diagrams, site plans, and equipment manuals to accurately diagnose issues and carry out repairs or adjustments. Perform safe heavy lifting and physical labor during installation, removal, and maintenance tasks while following all safety protocols. Communicate clearly with customers to explain system operation, maintenance needs, and safety considerations in a professional manner. Maintain accurate service records, job notes, and inspection documentation for each project to ensure quality control and operational tracking. Support off‑season operations by assisting with handyman‑style projects and contributing to setup, organization, and readiness of the Brandtwood Shop for customer-facing use.
