Job Description

Position SummaryThis role supports building projects, repairs, and improvements across Valley Queen facilities.

The primary focus is onmaintaining and improving plant infrastructure, with hands-on construction, repair, and maintenance work.

What You'll DoPerformcarpentry workon Valley Queen-owned rental homes, temporary project structures, and other assigned projectsCompletesmall concrete projects, including drilling, cutting, demolition, prep work, forming, pouring, and finishingInstall, maintain, and repairflooring systems, including tile floorsRepair and maintainpainted and caulked surfaces, especially in areas that require heavy wash-downs using industrial materialsOperatelarge equipmentfor construction projects andsnow removalduring winter monthsCoordinate and overseeoutside contractors, ensuring work quality meets Valley Queen standards and safety rulesAddress facility issues listed in thecorrective action systemin a timely mannerFollow allsafety, food safety, and quality standardsto support a safe work environmentComplete requiredsafety and quality trainingon timeKeep shops, vehicles, tools, and work areasclean, organized, and safeUse tools, materials, and supplies responsibly to maintain facilities efficiently and cost-effectivelyLook for ways toimprove processes, safety, and facility conditionsSkills & Qualities We're Looking ForStrongtechnical and construction skillsAbility tosolve problemsand work independentlyGoodcommunication skillsBasiccomputer skillsStrongtime managementand initiativeTakes pride in quality work and safetySupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis positiondoes not supervise other employeesWork EnvironmentWork takes place in aplant and shop settingMay be exposed to noise, moving equipment, vibration, dust, and temperature changesUse of safety equipment is requiredPhysical RequirementsPhysical requirements are outlined in a separate functional job descriptionSchedule & HoursFull-time positionTypically works•hour shifts, Monday through ThursdayFridays as neededOn-call during winter monthsfor snow eventsTravelMinimal travel required (less than 5%)Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDAssociate degree in a related technical fieldorequivalent construction experienceBasic computer skillsMust be at least18 years oldMust have or be able to obtain avalid driver's licensePreferred QualificationsBilingual inEnglish and SpanishAdditional InformationThis job description is intended to describe the general nature of the role.
