Maintenance and Facility Staff Vista Lutheran Church Minneapolis, MN Job Details Part-time $22 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Fiscal management Professional ethics Groundskeeping Performing background checks Boiler License Full Job Description Job Overview The Maintenance and Facility position is a self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as with other staff, members of the church, and various public groups that contract to use the facility. This position is part-time at 18 hours per week. These hours should be scheduled and completed in no fewer than four and no more than six days per week. Responsibilities Minor building maintenance (e.g. Changing lightbulbs, etc.) Plan for and maintain storage areas Occasional direction from the Pastor on special needs (e.g. Setting up altar area, narthex) Work with staff and ministries on special needs (e.g., STEP set up/tear down) -though expectation is that each group is responsible for its own logistics To set out chairs and tables as needed for church meetings and activities, as well as outside groups. Outside groups will usually be responsible for their own setup, take-down, and clean-up as needed. Oversee church contracts - security, elevator, fire extinguisher, sprinkler, garbage, lawncare (in conjunction with Proper ty Ministry) Maintenance of the above systems or facilitate maintenance professionals as needed on the above systems (in conjunction with Proper ty Ministry) Keep records of contracts - calendared and shared with the administration Boiler operator logbook responsibilities (licensed boiler engineer) Create and maintain the operating budget Manage snow/ice removal and keep entrances (cour tyard, parking lot, andhandicap entrances) free of snow and debris in between plowable snowfalls. Qualifications At least 18 years of age Successful completion of background check Demonstrate good judgment and ethical behavior Physical requirements to lift, bend, climb, reach, etc. Previous maintenance experience preferred licensed boiler engineer (or willing to get a license)
