Job Description

Our client, located in the West suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is looking to add a Maintenance & Facilities Technician to the team due to growth. The position would be a contract to direct hire. The hours are 6 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and Friday 6 am to 10 am. Hourly rate is $23.00 to $28.00 depending on experience. The Maintenance and Facilities Technician will oversee all maintenance and repairs needs on all shop floor equipment and facility needs. o Creates and maintains a preventive maintenance program to ensure timely and proper maintenance requirements are performed on all equipment within the facility. o Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently. o Oils, lubricates, changes filters, or cleans other moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance. o Adheres to maintenance budget; orders and installs replacement parts. o Maintains a record of damaged, worn, or broken parts with dates, root cause for part replacement, research to mitigate future issues, seek new and improved and/or possibly less expensive parts as appropriate. o Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines. o Coordinates with outside vendors and contractors to assist for specialty maintenance issues. o Facilities requirements may include general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), basic carpentry and other building repairs. o May need to consult blueprints or building plans to identify best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues. o Follows OSHA requirements. o Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities. o Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills o High School Diploma o 2+ years working in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility. o Ability to understand schematics and blueprints. o Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills. o Excellent skills in assessing mechanical issues and researching solutions. o Highly analytical and problem-solving skills. o Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). o Works well independently and with others. o Good communication skills. o Organized with attention to detail. o Physical Requirements of the position: o Prolonged periods standing and walking. o Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. o Must be able to visually inspect machines. o Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
