The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine property inspections and complete repairs to ensure buildings, equipment, and facilities are safe, functional, and in good condition for people served by MN Care Services. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will travel to homes of people served in Saint Paul, Red Wing, Owatonna, and Winona by MN Care Services via ground transportation, and must be available on-call to assist with emergency repairs or needs by the organization. Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician at
MN Care Services:
Travel to Saint Paul, Red Wing, Owatonna, and Winona homes to respond to maintenance requests and service calls in a timely manner Must be available on-call to assist with after-hours and/or emergency repairs or needs by MN Care Services Perform proactive and routine residential maintenance and general repairs on buildings, structures, and/or equipment Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify and recommend solutions in a 245D environment Perform tasks, such as painting, repairing drywall, light plumbing, light electrical work, carpentry, HVAC maintenance, furniture assembly, fixture and/or equipment assembly Perform landscaping and exterior building maintenance (e.g. clearing snow from walkways, lawn services, fence repair) Assist with renovations and upgrades of the interior and/or exterior of buildings Monitor and manage maintenance supply inventory Ensure all work performed is compliant with building codes and 245D requirements and in a safe manner Other cross-functional duties in or out of position scope, as necessary Required Skills and/or
Abilities Education & Experience:
High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree required; technical training or certification helpful At least three years of general handyman or maintenance experience in a residential setting Core Requirements Minimum age of 18 years Minnesota DHS Background Study clearance, or ability to obtain clearance Able to be on-call 24/7 for after-hours or emergency service response Able to safely use hand and power tools, like hammers, impact drivers, screwdrivers, saws, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality via verbal and written communication Ability to function well in a multi-priority environment Must possess valid driver's license and clean driving record Highly Preferred Experience in a 245D or HCBS setting Professional Skills & Expectations High-level documentation skills: accurate, objective, and timely service notes Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with team direction and supervisory guidance Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional boundaries Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and person-centered care Proficient with basic technology (phone, text messaging, email, Microsoft Office) Physical, Behavioral, and Safety-Related Requirements Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the day Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally (e.g. assisting with mobility, moving equipment, or intervening in crisis situations) Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and crouching (e.g. assisting individuals with activities of daily living, working at their level) Manual dexterity for using hand and/or power tools and manipulating small objects or adaptive equipment Capability to maintain prolonged physical positions while working (Standing, kneeling, or blocking) Awareness and control of body positioning and space to prevent injury to oneself or others Sufficient vision and hearing to complete tasks and act safely while working Pay and Benefits while working at
MN Care Services Pay Range:
