Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH) Reports to :Environmental Services Manager Job Summary/Objective:
The Floor Finisher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors throughout the facility. Duties include sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors in assigned areas, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are consistently met.Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and buff floors in patient areas, offices, hallways, and other designated spaces. Maintain appropriate levels of cleanliness in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Operate floor care equipment, including buffers, auto-scrubbers, and burnishers, safely and effectively. Follow established procedures for handling and mixing cleaning solutions and chemicals. Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the supervisor. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of floor care supplies and equipment. Ensure proper signage is placed during floor care activities to prevent accidents or falls. Adhere to infection control policies and safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with Environmental Services and Facilities teams to address cleaning and maintenance needs. Perform other cleaning or maintenance duties as assigned. Skills /Abilities:
Knowledge of floor care procedures, equipment, and cleaning solutions. Attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and floor appearance. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including prolonged standing and lifting. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.Education, Certificates, and License:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience:
Prior experience in floor care or custodial work preferred but not required.Physical Requirements:
Lifting:
Regularly lift and move items up to 50 lbs.Mobility:
Frequent walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling during shifts.Posture:
Prolonged standing while operating floor care equipment.Dexterity:
