Job Description
Job Summary Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Mechanic to join a local company in Cape Girardeau, MO. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and equipment maintenance. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues across various systems including air conditioning, refrigeration units, and appliances. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose problems. Conduct repairs on HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and related machinery following safety protocols. Lead or assist with construction projects or upgrades involving mechanical systems or infrastructure improvements. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for compliance and reporting purposes. Collaborate with team members to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or maintenance mechanic with a focus on appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, or related fields. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately. Hands-on experience with equipment repair, troubleshooting electrical components, and performing preventive maintenance. Familiarity with construction practices related to facility upgrades or installations. Knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units and refrigeration technology. Leadership qualities that enable effective team collaboration and supervision when necessary. Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with attention to detail in diagnosing issues swiftly. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
