The City of Columbia is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to help maintain and improve the facilities, grounds, infrastructure, and operational systems that support Columbia Regional Airport. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic airport environment where no two days are the same. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Perform electrical, plumbing, and general facility maintenance projects Install and replace fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring Repair plumbing fixtures, valves, faucets, and water systems Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems Operate a variety of equipment used in maintenance, construction, and grounds operations Assist with pavement maintenance and repair projects on airport property Maintain airport grounds and public areas Assist with snow and ice removal operations on runways and taxiways Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Provide outstanding customer service to airport tenants, visitors, and patrons Support airport operations and facility improvement projects
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or technical degree in a related field preferred One to three years of experience in electrical work, HVAC systems, maintenance trades, facility operations, or heavy equipment operation
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no air brake restriction within six months of hire Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH
Electrical systems and repairs HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting Plumbing repairs and maintenance Facility maintenance and construction trades Heavy equipment and motorized equipment operation Preventative maintenance programs Customer service and public interaction
