Summer Maintenance Technician

Job Summary The Church Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the church building, grounds, and equipment in a safe, clean, and functional condition. This role supports the church's mission by ensuring all facilities are well cared for and ready for worship services, events, and daily operations.

Job Responsibilities General Maintenance Perform routine inspections of church facilities and equipment Complete basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC support as needed) Replace light bulbs, fix minor leaks, and address general wear and tear Maintain heating and cooling systems at proper settings and report issues Building Upkeep Ensure all worship areas, classrooms, offices, and restrooms are clean and functional Coordinate or assist with deep cleaning schedules and seasonal maintenance Set up and tear down rooms for church services, meetings, and events Grounds Maintenance Care for church landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal cleanup Remove snow/ice and ensure safe walkways and parking areas Maintain outdoor lighting and exterior building appearance Job Requirements Prior experience in building or facility maintenance preferred Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry repairs Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform manual labor tasks Respectful attitude and alignment with the values of the church The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
