Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing residential apartment units, ensuring a safe, functional, and attractive living environment for residents. This role requires a strong background in facilities maintenance, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance person skills. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving abilities, technical knowledge, and customer service skills to effectively address resident concerns and uphold property standards. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on apartment units and common areas Conduct repairs involving electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues efficiently Operate tools such as ohmmeters, welders, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for various repair tasks Manage facilities maintenance tasks including residential painting and general upkeep Supervise or assist with projects requiring mechanical knowledge or specialized skills like welding or electrical work Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Ensure compliance with safety protocols and building codes during all maintenance activities Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to resident requests and concerns Lead or assist in supervising maintenance staff or interns when necessary Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting complex systems Proficiency with schematics, electrical wiring, and residential painting techniques Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), welding, and the use of tools like ohmmeters Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management and recordkeeping Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints effectively Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and resident interaction Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the maintenance team Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to resident satisfaction Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial environments is advantageous but not required This position offers an opportunity to apply diverse technical skills within a dynamic residential setting.
