Duties Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, feed systems, ventilation units, and water supply systems within the swine operation facility. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Use schematic diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose problems accurately and efficiently. Operate specialized tools including precision measuring instruments, ammeters, ohmmeters, and low voltage testers to ensure proper system functioning. Perform welding and other fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment as needed. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Support field service activities by responding promptly to equipment failures or emergencies to minimize downtime. Assist with the installation of new machinery and upgrades while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards such as HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) certifications. Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to high voltage systems and electrical work by following proper procedures. Collaborate with team members across departments to optimize manufacturing processes and improve overall operational efficiency. Skills Extensive experience working within manufacturing facilities with a focus on industrial mechanics and maintenance. Strong knowledge of electrical systems including industrial electrician experience, high voltage safety practices, and low voltage troubleshooting. Proficiency with schematics, technical drawings, and control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, welding, HVAC/R systems, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to operate equipment such as scissor lifts safely for elevated maintenance tasks. Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues quickly. Customer service orientation combined with effective communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration. Background in industrial electrician work or military service that emphasizes discipline, safety awareness, and technical proficiency is highly valued.
