Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Mount Vernon, MO Job summary Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments: Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment. Detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or others to diagnose problem or repair machine. Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment. May install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications. Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Fabricate and repair windows, doors and other wooden structures. Prioritize work as needed to keep production floor going. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Minimum requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Five years experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent. Read and write legibly. Valid driver's license. Clean driving record. A solid attendance record. Lift, carry or move 50 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 75 pounds occasionally, and over 75 pounds with mechanical assistance. Work in very hot and very cold conditions. Requires walking and standing most of the shift. Good math skills and ability to calculate measurements. Must have own tools and measuring devices. Abilities required Detailed and thorough in completing tasks with a high degree of precision. Good organizational skills. Mechanical aptitude. Able to listen, understand and follow oral instructions. Able to read, understand and follow written instructions. Good communication skills. Open to change in the workplace. Readily adaptable to changing priorities.
