Duties include a variety of skilled tasks in maintenance, repair, and janitorial care of the Community Center and related facilities. Ensures buildings, equipment, and grounds are safe, clean, and fully operational while supporting daily operations, programs, and community events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on facility systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, doors, locks, and fixtures Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment and building systems operate efficiently Inspect facility regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and repair issues Respond promptly to work orders and emergency maintenance requests Perform daily cleaning of all facility areas including gymnasium, fitness center, multipurpose rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces and equipment Clean and disinfect high-touch areas to maintain health and safety standards Restock janitorial supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners Perform deep cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis (floors, windows, locker rooms, etc.) Set up and break down rooms for programs, events, and rentals (tables, chairs, equipment) Assist with event logistics and ensure spaces are clean and ready before and after use Support daily operations to ensure a smooth and efficient facility environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in building maintenance, custodial/janitorial services, or a related field preferred Experience performing basic repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general facility maintenance preferred Previous experience in a community center, school, recreational facility, or similar public-use environment is a plus Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered No disqualifying driving record or criminal expertise. Must possess a general knowledge of building maintenance and mechanics. The hourly rate for this role is (GS-10) $20.10 Please apply online at www.cityofjennings.org.
