Maintenance Technician I (Tanglewood Park) Salary $35,339.20 - $40,640.08 Annually Location Clemmons, NC Job Type Full Time Job Number 08852 Department Parks and Recreation Opening Date 05/07/2026 Closing Date 5/17/2026 11:59 PM Eastern Description Benefits Questions General Statement of Duties Forsyth County's Parks and Recreation has an opening for Maintenance Technician I. This is a full-time opportunity to work outdoors at beautiful Tanglewood Park. Great opportunity to work in an outdoor environment in western Forsyth County by performing a variety of tasks associated with park maintenance operations. Employees will perform duties associated with maintenance of park grounds such as mulching, mowing, line trimming, backpack blowing, spreading gravel, repair fencing, leaf removal, snow removal, trail maintenance and general grounds maintenance tasks. Will have direct interaction with park patrons and will provide information and instruction to guest that are utilizing park facilities and assist with requests to ensure that facility is acceptable for rental period. This employee is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of a variety of 2-cycle equipment and some medium equipment (lawnmowers, and tractors) after training. Employees may assist maintenance staff with the completion of small projects and work requests such as picnic table repair, staining, fencing, painting, maintaining public picnic shelters, cleaning public restrooms, replenishing public restroom supplies, trash removal, pet waste stations, pressure washing, cleaning of public grills, lock and unlock access gates and facilities. May assist with duties associated with special event preparations and clean up. Will assist with the installation and dismantling of light displays for the annual Festival of Lights. Responsible for operation and general maintenance of a variety of small equipment. Performs all related work as required.
Works schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with occasional weekend duties during November and December We are currently recruiting for this position, but candidate selected will start after July 1, 2026. Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work. A valid driver's license is required. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered for minimum qualification requirements.
