Maintenance Technician Goldsboro, NC 27534 From $27 an hour - Full-time From $27 an hour - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all Maintenance needs and functions within the Harvesting and Packing Departments. You are to ensure machines are always running optimally, while carrying out PM Plans according to the expected time intervals, while recording all work orders accurately. The responsibility of basic electrical, machinery assembling and disassembly, general maintenance structure, will also form part of your responsibilities. You will be reporting directly to the Maintenance Manageryou'll play a key role in supporting and working together with the team with maintaining a positive, compliant, and productive workplace environment. Responsibilities Set Up equipment after Pre Operational Inspections are complete Ensure machines are performing to required efficiency and waste targets. Assist operators in Change Overs. Break down equipment if required and send to sanitation for cleaning. Fill in work orders to be able to track maintenance and follow company food safety protocol Familiarize and understand food safety culture and GMP's Be able to support the Production in ensuring minimal downtime is experienced for any reason. Perform Preventative maintenance schedule as set out by the PM plan. Maintain excellent housekeeping principles on the floor and workshop while performing duties. Be able to change schedules as required by production in relation to planned work Advise on spare part requirements and leave a well-documented handover for day shift maintenance on work performed and any concerns Be proactive in the approach to solving issues before they become a major concern Be an active team member and maintain a positive attitude Take the lead for all maintenance, breakdown and facility breakdown issues on your shift. Maintain and repair facility infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing, Cleaning HVAC, and basic structural elements. Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and modifications as needed. Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Support emergency maintenance calls to restore operations quickly Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician with a focus on appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, or mechanical maintenance. Strong understanding of schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units and ventilation systems. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Familiarity with construction processes and safety protocols related to building maintenance projects. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently under pressure. Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks effectively.
