Maintenance Technician I (Kernersville Lake Park)

General Statement of Duties Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a person for a part-time position as a Maintenance Technician I for Kernersville Lake Park. This will also be a floating position to cover possible vacancies at Walkertown, Union Cross and Belews Lake Parks. Duties include cleaning restrooms, mulching, cleaning the shelter, rescue boat operation, mowing, mulching, working with the public and performing various projects using a variety of equipment including tractors, blowers and various handheld power tools.

We are currently recruiting for this position, but candidate selected will start after July 1, 2026. Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance A valid driver's license is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the minimum requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Cleaning restrooms and shelters Mowing, mulching, weeding/spraying, blowing debris and leaves Trash/litter pick-up Rescue boat operation Working with the public Performing various projects using a variety of equipment including tractors, mowers and various handheld power tools.
