Essential Job Duties Join our dedicated Building Maintenance and Operations team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician and play a vital role in keeping our campus systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this position, you'll use your technical expertise to maintain, repair, and install a wide range of building systems, including HVACR , electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and service excellence. K ey responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to: Maintain, repair, and install HVACR systems , including air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair steam/hot water boilers and auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, condensate receivers, steam lines, pressure-reducing stations, air compressors, and water softeners Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment Conduct electrical work up to 600 VAC , including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical panels, breakers, switchgear, magnetic starters, disconnects, motors, and lighting systems Troubleshoot and repair control systems , including temperature controls, regulators, humidity controllers, sensors, pneumatic control valves, and regulators Install and maintain plumbing systems , including cutting, threading, assembling, and installing pipes, valves, and fixtures for gas, water, and sanitation systems Perform pipefitting and insulation work related to steam and water distribution systems Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices while performing all duties Ability to lift up to 60 pounds to 90 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations Other Responsibilities Must participate in quarterly on-call program, carrying a pager for one week at a time. This occurs every ten to fourteen weeks. Must be able to work overtime and/or alternate shifts when necessary for emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification(s).
