reviews Part-time, Full-time The Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations by helping keep equipment and facility systems in proper working condition. This position contributes to overall production performance while promoting compliance with company standards for safety, quality, and sanitation in a food processing environment. Primary Duties & Responsibilities 1. Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment, utility systems, and facility machinery. 2. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime. 3. Repair or replace defective parts, motors, belts, bearings, pumps, valves, and other equipment components. 4. Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential safety hazards. 5. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and preventative maintenance schedules. 6. Support production operations by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs. 7. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times. 8. Assist with equipment installation, setup, testing, and startup of new or modified machinery. 9. Keep maintenance tools, parts inventory, and work areas clean, organized, and ready for use. 10. Communicate maintenance issues, repair status, and equipment needs with supervisors and production staff.
REQUIREMENTS
1.Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, conveyors, pumps, sensors, VFDs) 2.Welding and fabrication skills — MIG/TIG/stick welding, light fabrication, stainless repair 3.Working knowledge of PLCs and ability to read schematics, blueprints, and OEM manuals 4.Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventative maintenance programs 5.Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and sanitary equipment design 6.Ability to maintain accurate maintenance logs and support audit‑ready documentation. 7.Strict adherence to safety procedures including LOTO, machine guarding, and hot work.
