Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. Your expertise will help ensure that properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained, contributing to a positive environment for residents, clients, and staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills, electrical knowledge, and hands-on experience in a dynamic setting. Duties Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facilities to identify issues early and ensure optimal operation Perform general repairs including plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall work, and minor electrical tasks to maintain property standards Utilize schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems effectively Operate tools such as welders, ohmmeters, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose faults and execute repairs with precision Assist with facilities maintenance projects including residential painting, welding repairs, and system upgrades Supervise or coordinate with subcontractors or team members during larger maintenance or renovation projects Maintain accurate records of work performed using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking repairs and scheduling future maintenance Requirements Proven experience in facilities maintenance or general handyman roles with strong mechanical knowledge Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to electrical and mechanical systems Skilled in welding techniques and familiar with electrical systems; experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is a plus Knowledge of residential painting techniques and basic carpentry skills Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and documentation Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively in English Experience supervising or leading small teams is desirable; leadership skills are highly valued Proficiency using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment like multimeters or testers Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards Valid NC Drivers License Join us if you're passionate about hands-on work that makes a real difference!
