Summary :
The Maintenance Technician - I position is responsible for assisting in performing a variety of semi-skilled mechanical work with line set-up, maintenance and repair of components, equipment and systems. They will also perform semi-skilled mechanical and/or electrical work under the general supervision Maintenance Technician II. Maintenance Technician I's will take an apprentice role to other Maintenance Technician's classified as an II, III, or IV in order to observe and learn through on-the-job opportunities to enhance and start to build a solid mechanical and electrical maintenance foundation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Understanding and demonstrating the behavior that the safety of yourself and other coworkers is paramount and is the #1 priority here at WestRock. Perform safety inspections in manufacturing or repair settings. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) or clean-up tasks. Repair or maintain the operating condition of production machinery. Set-up production lines (Assembly). Operate maintenance vehicles including aerial lifts, personnel transport vehicles, and forklifts. Assist Maintenance Technician's II, III, and IV in performing tasks in maintenance repair, and installation of equipment and systems. Perform semi-skilled repair of mechanical equipment. Examine parts for defects, breakage or wear. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Clean, lubricate or adjust parts, equipment or machinery. Document repairs and maintenance performed. Document parts or materials used and request new parts or materials as necessary. Maintain and repair work tools or equipment. Lubricate machinery or parts. Position align or level machines or structures. Maintain repair records as assigned. Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area. Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. Overtime is required. Perform other duties as assigned.
